Managing Projects & Criteria

This guide covers the day-to-day mechanics of managing your decision matrix in Axiom.

Project Workspaces

Creating a Blank Project

  1. Navigate to the application sidebar and click the New Project layout block.
  2. Select Blank Project.
  3. Enter a relevant name for your decision (e.g., "Software Vendor Selection").
  4. Choose your baseline framework (Standard vs RICE/ICE/WSJF).
  5. Click submit to enter your new project workspace.

Adjusting Project Settings

Each project has a settings panel allowing you to tweak the project timeline, ownership, and description.

If a project concludes, you can Archive it to remove it from your active focus dock while maintaining its historical read-only data, or Delete it entirely if no longer needed.

Modifying Criteria

Adding a Criterion

  1. Inside your project workspace, click Add Criteria at the top right of the criteria area.
  2. Select whether you are adding an Elimination criterion or a Scoring criterion.
  3. Enter a relevant name and description for what you are evaluating.
  4. If scoring, specify the default weight.
  5. Click Create Criteria to confirm.

Adjusting Criteria Weights

As decisions evolve, the relative importance of attributes shifts.

  1. Navigate to the Evaluate page (formerly Report).
  2. For Scoring criteria, locate the Weight input for that specific row.
  3. Depending on your project's chosen Weighting Style (Multiplier vs Percentage), you can either adjust the raw multiplier, or re-balance the percentage allocations across all your criteria.
  4. The overall scores and the Sensitivity Analysis component will immediately trigger a recalculation, allowing you to dynamically see how shifts in priority impact the leading options.

Deleting a Criterion

If a factor no longer matters to the decision strategy:

  1. Click the options menu (three dots) on the criterion row.
  2. Select Delete Criteria.
  3. Confirm the deletion. This will permanently remove its influence across all evaluated options and delete corresponding evaluation data.
